Biological Hazards at Telecomm Sites

This course covers the biological hazards associated with the wireless industry. The personnel taking the course will learn some of the techniques for identifying and preventing different types of biological hazards as well as different types of Personnel Protection Equipment (PPE) that could be used.

Comm Site Safety

Comm Site Safety Certification 101 is your first step to achieving the necessary knowledge to work safely at a comm site. This virtual course series consists of multiple courses and includes the coveted and annually required RF Safety certification.

Electrical Hazards 101

Introduction to Electrical Safety

Discussion topics include: Hazardous Locations, Ggeneral Safety Requirements, Electrical Hazards and Safety Working Clearances.

Fall Protection 101

Introduction to fall protection within the RF working environment & general construction. 

Discussion topics include: Fall protection systems, OSHA Subpart M- walking / working surfaces, general ladder requirements & Competent person requirements.

HAZCOM 101

Hazard Communication (Hazcom) training covers the chemicals that are commonly found in different facilities. The training material will cover how to read a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), and what to look for when reading a MSDS.

Lockout/Tagout 101

Students will be informed of the basics of Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.

Radman Training

This training demonstrates the applications and limitations of the units, and the many uses of the RadMan™.

Topics include: Recognizing the Startup Sequenc,e Recognizing the Visual and Audible Alarm Sequences, Isotropic Detection Frequency, Detection Range for E and H Fields, Detecting RF Leaks in Equipment (Coax, Waveguides, Connectors), Personal Protection Monitoring, Advantages and Limitations, Optical Interface Usage, Proper Donning and Wearing, Limitations, Remote Monitoring, ETS Software Package, Data Logging in the Field with the XT Units, and Recognizing the Predominant RF Component (E/H) with the Monitor .

RF Safety 101

Introduction to RF Safety: This is an entry level certification course that provides participants with the general knowledge on how to work safely around RF.

Course Topics include: RF Safety Best Practices, Understanding OSHA’s Action Limits with Regards to RF Exposure limits, as well as a High Level Introduction to Site Signage, Site RF Maps and RF Personal Monitors.

RF Safety 201 S (Spanish)

This course is going to cover some of the more common hazards associated with rooftops. The course will present hazards such as trip, chemical, environmental, biological and Radio Frequency (RF) hazards.

RF Safety 201

This course builds upon lessons learned in RFS 101 and is also an option for recertification. 

Course Topics Include:   More in-depth RF Safety basics & reviews steps to compliance using Best RF Safety Practices, changes regarding MPE rules and compliance requirements mandated by OSHA & FCC.

*A previous RSI RF Safety course is required to take this course.*

RF Safety Certification Package

This course is recommended for all persons with the potential to be exposed to RF Radiation while on a worksite.  It is a series of two courses (RF Safety 101 & 201) designed to provide attendees with the understanding of industry standard best practices for working safely around RF.  The participant will have the ability to obtain the necessary knowledge to work safely at locations that may have RF present.  Topics include FCC and OSHA requirements, MPE rules, Industry Best management practices for working around RF, as well as information on site signage, site RF Maps and RF personal monitors.

RF Safety for Rooftop Workers (Spanish)

This course is going to cover some of the more common hazards associated with rooftops. The course will present hazards such as trip, chemical, environmental, biological and Radio Frequency (RF) hazards.

Site Battery Safety

This course covers safe battery handling, general maintenance of batteries and containment.

Walking/Working Surfaces

This course covers the safety issues involved in workplace walking/working surfaces.
