RSI's Mission Statements: “Helping Clients Succeed” and "Safety Through Education"
RSI is the forerunner in client resolution and the real leader in the field of RF technical and safety services! Many others claim to be, but how many really know radio and RF from the transmitter all the way down the tower and even the anchoring system? Only RSI. In fact, RSI’s technical staff is authorized to conduct FCC commercial radio exams and has formulated technical reports and safety plans for virtually every type of organization, from small companies to multi-national corporations, utility groups, site management, Cell/PCS and government entities. Services include: RF Hazard assessments, vertical assessments, noise studies, live and online training, safety programs, MPE analysis, contractor audits, PPM and RF/FCC signage. RSI has the expertise, equipment, knowledge and experience to perform assessments at facilities with industrial heating, and sealing equipment. We also have an on the air broadcast radio division group that the RF staff maintains.
Many companies also claim to be the leader in RF safety, but how many of these firms actually have had a safety services group since their start? Over the past years, RSI instructors have trained thousands of people in live technical and safety classes; senior trainers have over 30 years each in real world RF experience. Courses are approved by the American Board of Industrial Hygiene and are also approved for continuing education points, CME and re-certification credits from the Society of Broadcast Engineers. RSI has a technical staff that is authorized to provide testing for ETA, conduct FCC commercial radio exams, are Certified Utility Safety Administrators (CUSA) and American Safety & Health Institute instructors. Our RF staff have evaluated thousands of RF sites and written numerous site-specific reports as required by OSHA, the FCC, Motorola and others. RSI’s work is backed with professional liability insurance covering all your RF and safety issues.
RSI staff members wrote their first safety plans back in the 1970’s and their first RFR programs over thirty years ago. In fact, senior managers have been performing site assessments and teaching safety for decades . RSI’s corporate safety staff “wrote the book” on RF site assessments and our Superior Survey Techniques™ class has been taught as an industry standard. RSI, through a university partnership, developed and implemented the original Superior Survey Technique procedures over a decade ago. This text book, detailing how to conduct RF Compliance surveys, set the standard that has been adapted and utilized by nearly every RF service provider to date. Our staff of highly specialized safety professionals, with several decades of EHS experience, brought their knowledge to the telecom industry by helping develop standards and practices in order for companies to become compliant with the RF safety standards.
The depth and diversity of team is our strength. By combining expertise and collaborating, RSI is able to provide clients with options to make partnering with us easier. RSI’s flexibility and desire to be a true partner provide clients with multitudes of options whereby allowing clients to focus on their many other job duties and undoubtedly know RSI will be taking care of things right. For sites that require vertical assessments to meet FCC/OSHA compliance, RSI utilizes its in-house team of certified professional tower climbers. RSI has historically been the only organization providing complete vertical assessments by internal certified tower climbing crews. These climbers are qualified professional RSI employees, and meet all required safety procedures. They are also qualified in tower rescue procedures and first aid, so you can rest assured our professional team will be safe while on your sites. This is a very important differential as very few vendors provide OSHA compliant vertical assessment services. A minimum of a two man crew is required for all vertical assessments to meet compliance requirements. We realize regulations require climbing crews be qualified, competent, and meet all applicable safety requirements. Many clients have partnered with RSI on vertical assessments, after finding out their previous RF compliance provider was not meeting regulation safety standards and therefore exposing them to liability!
No injuries on every project every time.
That is RSI’s record and why RSI has an industry leading workplace safety program
RSI professionals routinely serve on committees both with State OSHA, technical, and trade organizations. They have written numerous articles, have been speakers at multiple national trade events, and have been actively involved in establishing industry best management practices for safety on telecom sites.
The highest quality and most accurate services are the only solutions RSI offers. Service output and reports are independently reviewed by our staff of leading professionals who work as a team throughout the project to ensure deliverables are valid and our findings will overcome scrutiny from federal agencies, the general public, and employees. Assessments have always been performed through spatial averaging with calibrated RF survey meters. RSI does not use Personal Protection Monitors for assessments, as this is not the standard and certainly will not protect clients from liability. RSI also offers a color coded maps for the actual readings taken and all reports have easy to interpret findings. RSI can and does customize reports to meet individual area or region needs and is the only RF services provider to have focus on safety and have a team of professionals with detailed expertise. This safety expertise enables RSI to write site specific safety plans for sites above MPE limits and also perform EHS audits for acquisitions and to assist clients in achieving compliance standards. Because RF exposure is a safety issue, this is an important differential to any organization.
RSI has never missed a deadline nor come in over budget on a single project we have undertaken. This type of performance is what sets us apart and why our clients are completely satisfied upon project completion. RSI has the ability to assess a large number of sites in a short time frame because our teams of highly qualified assessors are available, as needed, to meet RSI’s clients needs.
